This year we are starting on setting up a more perennial garden. Big emphasis is on planting trees, edible trees! trying also to raise some perennial vegetables from seed, which is quite a challenge, like sea kale, bamboos, Paw Paw tree, sweet chestnut. But we also he had donations from friends and family to plant locally raised fruit tree seedlings: apples, pears, apricots, cherries, sea berries.
There are couple links to videos how we planted them:
Cherry tree for Liz
Peach for Agate
cherry tree for Yvonne
Apricot for Maurice
This year because it has been so warm straight away in early spring all the fruit trees flowered and will have fruits. There for will be able out what fruit trees we all ready have, and are new self seeded, wild varieties edible and tasty.
These are some photos from the end of may when first seedlings has appeared:
vegetable bed in the shape of a letter A, dedicated to Vineta's sister Agate with peach tree in the middle.
It just happened that we have Tomatoes, beans and mustard all growing together even thou beans and tomatoes are really companion plants.
Above there is one of the asparagus coming up in the bed next to rhubarb, we got there lots of rhubarb seeds too, see if they come up too!
We got last years Jerusalem artichokes back! They look heathy! Thinking to have much more of them next year.
Above are are some wild strawberries we replanted from forest and mulched, they have grown bigger. And one of the succulent plants, ten year old surviver also is edible and tastes fantastic in salads.
This is a old cherry tree has been on the land for decades, now flowered and appears to have many green cherries now.

There is a great asset we have on the land: which is a old well. water is still quite clean considering that was open for 10 years. We will need to think on how to preserve and make water drinkable from this well:
